London

Looks like the Olympic-bid celebration will have to be cut short. Not to make light of the situation, having spent many enjoyable nights in London myself, but the pall this puts on all the recent events (G8, Live8, Olympics, etc.) is pretty staggering. One wonders how Blair's government will respond. I found his televised statement infinitely more sincere than any of Bush's tough-guy post 9/11 speeches, but after what happened in Spain in March '04, who can say which paradigm will be followed in Britain.

One thing I do know is that whenever there is terrorism we should blame it on a shadowy network of Arabs and use it to justify ideolically motivated expansionist war... Because that is a totally effective way of stopping future terrorist attacks. Oh wait...

Instead, perhaps we should fight the real enemies, who are, of course, homosexuals seeking to marry. Sorry. Wrong again.

They were saying that it was probably al Qaeda because they use a bit of playful numerology in all their attacks...ie the 9/11-911 connection...

and, after all, today is 7/7/2005, and the numbers in 2005 all add up to 7...and there were possibly 7 separate bombs detonated...

all looks like very concrete evidence to me--on to iran/syria!

Look, I'm all for defeating terrorism. But I wouldn't be called Nostradamus if I wasn't amazed at how quickly such numerological connections occur to people...

i think we're still overlooking too much. i mean, sure, 775 doesn't slip off the tongue quite as fast as 911 does, but take a look at this...

7/7/05 --> 7 + 7 + 05 = 19, appending a one (because this is the first time London has been bombed by terrorists since 911) we get 119, which is a little Too good to be true don't you you think?

Now consider the absolute difference digit-wise between 911 and 775, which comes to 264. Translating that into their representative letters, we're left with BFD. I haven't figured out whether this stands for Baghdad Fire Department or Being a Fallujan Dionysus. Luckily I've applied to start my own branch within the homeland security deparment, so soon all of these mysteries (and more!) can be conclusively deciphered.
